The power of seeing and hearing what an amazing thing adoption can be, from someone who has been through it, can be life changing. That’s why, as part of this year’s National Adoption Week campaign, from 1-7 November 2010, we are launching a new initiative to turn ordinary people in to ‘Adoption Champions’. Adoption Champions is a national community involvement scheme that encourages adoptive parents and adopted people to go into their local communities and use their experience, passion and enthusiasm to encourage others to adopt. The initiative is the first of its kind in the sector and we hope that it will help find families for some of the 4,000 children waiting for adoption every year in the UK.
