So today we officially start our hunt to fill the spot for the eighth member of V8. Not an easy task and Lorna’s place will be hard to fill. We have already had enquiries via this site, asking how to apply so we have decided to set a number of auditions. We haven’t yet decided whether the spot should be taken by a boy or a girl, I feel we should leave it open to all and decide on talent.
The first of the auditions will be held at our event at the LG Arena in Birmingham. We are setting up an area on the main concourse, enabling anyone that feels they have a chance, to audition in front of a video camera. Places for this don’t need to be booked in advance; and we will be running the auditions from 2pm until 7pm.
In addition we will be accepting video uploads onto the site in due course; and making further announcements about other audition options.
As the process to find the right talent is going to take some time, in the meantime I am thinking that maybe we should invite a guest artist to appear with V8 at Birmingham…watch this space !
We are a sound engineer short at the moment, unfortunately John fell over in his kitchen whilst doing some DIY…ended up with a broken foot and is in a ‘boot’ so driving is out of the question. Which is a problem because he lives 30 miles from work…with so much recording and mixing to do this month, the timing isn’t the best.
